Specialist Staff

School Counsellor - Mrs Roz Bentley

A trained psychologist is attached to the school and is here to assist students with a large variety of needs. The class teacher may request support for your child or you may request support through an appointment with the School Counsellor. A permission note must be signed for your child to be assessed by the School Counsellor. Findings in relation to your child will be discussed with you.

Support Teacher Learning Assistance (STLA) - Mrs Kerry Vezitis

The STLA supports students within the school who experience difficulties in mastering Literacy and Numeracy skills. The STLA works in the classroom with the class teacher or withdraws children to address the identified needs of those students experiencing difficulty.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Teachers - Miss Jennifer Ware & Miss Angela Gregory

ESL teachers support students with Non English speaking backgrounds to gain competency in both oral and written English.

Reading Recovery Teachers (RR) - Miss Jennifer Ware and Miss Angela Gregory

The Reading Recovery teachers work with selected Year 1 students on a one to one basis to improve their reading skills. Selected students are withdrawn from class for 30 minutes each day to work on a very structured program with the aim of bringing their reading skills up to the average Year 1 level.

Teacher Librarian - Cathie Cattermole

The Teacher librarian works co-operatively with the class teacher promoting a love of literacy and the development of research skills.

Technology Teachers - Mrs Karla Roe and Mrs Virginia D'Angelis

The technology teachers take each class into the computer lab for one hour per week to further develop their computer skills across a variety of computer applications and programs.

Teachers’ Aides - Mrs Angela Lucre, Mrs Debbie Coates & Mrs Belinda McCann

Teachers’ Aides are employed to support students with a recognised disability who are in mainstream classes so that they can achieve full access to the school’s curriculum. Teachers Aides provide support in the child’s classroom during normal lesson time.
